Antonio Masi - A Bold Approach to Water Based Mediums
Antonio Masi is president of the American Watercolor Society and an International renowned painter. The goal of this demonstration is to show the untapped power of water- based mediums. The focus will be on how to approach the mediums from a contemporary point of view, powerful, emotional and delicate. Learn how attention to details and unusual perspective make for poetic, moody works, with strong textural qualities. During his demonstration, he will explain the uses of his paints, paper, palette and brushes and how he applies color and how to loosen up during painting.

Next Lecture at Atelier Hall...
The Atelier at Flowerfield is hosting Andrew Washton, lifelong historian and rare art manuscript and catalog dealer for an art lecture on Rembrandt Van Rijn on Thursday, November 14th, from 7-8:30 p.m. The lecture will be preceded by a musical and social hour from 6:30-7 p.m. in the Atelier Fine Art Library, which houses 10,000 volumes of rare books donated by Andrew Washton to The Atelier. Guests are also invited to attend a reception afterwards for a live cello performance by local classical cellist James Acampora.
This lecture is an unconventional discussion of Rembrandt's life and some of Rembrandt's paintings, chiefly some of his portraits. In what context were they created? Did Rembrandt always "go his own way" stylistically? Were his compositions conventional or original? And finally, what happened to Rembrandt's pet monkey?
